Experience
Dr. Mertz has extensive training in implants, endodontics, oral surgery, restorative dentistry, and dental sleep medicine. Previously, he served as a clinical instructor to fourth-year dental students. He is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, the American Dental Association, the Wisconsin Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Mertz's wife, Emily, works as a physician's assistant in gastroenterology. Together, they have two young daughters and a dog. In his free time, Dr. Mertz enjoys golfing, mountain biking, road biking, trail running, and cross-country (XC) skiing — basically anything that keeps him active.
